Running a Unit Near Mandal, Becharaji or Detroj? Your Lubricant Questions, Answered
The Mandal-Becharaji belt has changed a lot in a few years. It sits in Mehsana district, along the Ahmedabad to Becharaji corridor, and has grown around the Maruti Suzuki and Honda two-wheeler plants into one of the busiest auto manufacturing zones in the state. The Mandal Becharaji Special Investment Region covers roughly 102 square kilometres across nine villages including Hansalpur, Sitapur and Ughroj, and a long list of component suppliers has settled around it, with plans for hundreds more.
If you run or manage a unit in this area, most of the questions we get are the same handful. So here they are, with straight answers.
What kind of units are in this area, and does it change what oil I need?
Mostly auto component makers: pressed parts, machined parts, plastic and polymer components, clutch and drivetrain items, wiring and electronics. There’s also some textile and general engineering around Detroj and Mandal. The oil you need depends far more on your machine than on your customer’s brand name. A press shop and a machining shop can sit side by side and need completely different products.
What do press shops and stamping units usually need?
Hydraulic oil for the presses, and rust preventive oil for finished parts waiting to be dispatched. Servo System HLP covers general press hydraulics, and the XLP range suits machines under higher pressure or where you want longer change intervals.
And machining units?
Cutting and metal working fluid is the big one. The right fluid improves tool life and surface finish, and the wrong one shows up as rough edges, rejected batches and fast tool wear. Match it to the metal you’re cutting and the operation, not just to what the last shop used.
What about plastic and polymer component units?
Injection moulding machines need hydraulic oil, EP gear oil for the drive, way oil for sliding surfaces and a high temperature grease near the barrel. Roop Polymer type operations in this belt are a good example of where this combination applies.
Do I need a different grease for different machines?
Usually yes. Conveyor and assembly line bearings are one case, hot areas near ovens or furnaces are another, and heavily loaded gearbox bearings are a third. A single general purpose grease across the whole plant tends to work in some places and quietly fail in others.
How quickly can you supply this area?
We’re based in Sanand and keep over 500 barrels in stock, with access to 15,000 kL of storage at the Indian Oil CFA warehouse in Sanand. Mandal, Becharaji and Detroj are part of our regular supply route, so common grades don’t need long waiting times. For urgent requirements, call and we’ll confirm the quickest option.
Can a small vendor order, or do you only deal with large plants?
Both. Many tier-2 and tier-3 suppliers in this belt order a few barrels or smaller packs at a time, and that’s completely fine. We’d rather you order the right grade in a small quantity than the wrong one in bulk.
How do I know the oil is genuine?
Buy from an authorized stockist, ask for batch details and invoice, and check that the seal and labelling match Indian Oil’s Servo branding. We provide documentation with every order, which also helps if your customer audits your consumables.

Send us your machine list and what you currently use. We’ll tell you which Servo grade fits each machine and point out anything that looks mismatched.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Mandal-Becharaji a GIDC estate?
It is a Special Investment Region, developed with GIDC involvement, with nearby estates and industrial areas around Mandal, Detroj and Hansalpur. We supply across the whole belt, whatever the label.
Do you supply Honda or Maruti vendor plants specifically?
We supply industrial units across this area regardless of who their end customer is. Your oil requirement depends on your machinery, and we match the grade to that.
Can you recommend a cutting oil if I machine aluminium and steel on the same line?
Yes, but share the operations and machine type first. Some fluids handle both metals well and others do not.
Do you offer scheduled deliveries for monthly consumption?
Yes, regular consumers can set up scheduled supply so stock arrives before it runs low.
